Description
Chet Baker is one of the most iconic names in all of Jazz. So many "grey market", out-right bootleg, and major label reissues come out every year that is seems like there is a new release monthly! This 12" single is officially licensed in a partnership with iconic fashion photographer Bruce Weber (Little Bear Inc.) who directed, produced and created the documentary film on Chet Baker, "Let's Get Lost" 35 years ago. The music on this 12" single has been unreleased in his personal archives for all those 35 years.
"Almost Blue" is the Elvis Costello composition originally in the film and soundtrack - but this version was recorded live during the Cannes Film Festival in May 1987. Bruce is creating a new video to go with the single release. The B-Side will contain C'est Si Bon recorded in a Paris studio - circa 1987 and features all the musicians used for the film and soundtrack. The second song on the B-side will be "Make Me Rainbows" from an LA studio session in early 1987. (possible that song changes) The goal of this euro style audiophile sounding 12" for RSD is to act like a press release - complete with details to the amazing forthcoming 2xLP, CD, Download + streaming project, tentatively scheduled for late May 2025. That is why the low ppd cost is feasible - this is intended to let fans know about this release 35 years in the making! Limited to 750 US copies.
